Dedza Dynamos Sack Coach Andrew Bunya

Bunya; Sacked on Sunday evening

Dedza Dynamos have parted ways with head coach Andrew Bunya following a disappointing run of form in the ongoing TNM Super League campaign.

The club’s spokesperson Gaston Kamkosi confirmed Bunya's departure, citing poor results since the start of the season.

“It’s true we have parted ways with coach Andrew Bunya with immediate effect, the decision was made due to the team’s unsatisfactory performance. The executive felt it was time to bring in new energy and ideas.”

He added that the club is currently consulting on a potential replacement, though no official appointment has been made.

“It’s not something that will happen overnight, but we’re working to make a decision as soon as possible,” Kamkosi said.

The decision follows a heavy 4-0 defeat at home to Karonga United, which came just days after a 1-0 loss at the same venue to FCB Nyasa Big Bullets.

So far this season, Dedza Dynamos have played five matches, managing just two wins, a 4-1 victory over Creck Sporting Club and a narrow win against Chitipa United. The club has suffered three defeats, including two at home and one away to Mighty Tigers.

Kamkosi also issued an apology to the club's supporters, acknowledging their frustrations.

“We are very sorry that we haven’t made them happy. The results haven’t been what we expected. But we believe the changes we’re making will bring positive energy, and the supporters will be happy soon. We urge them to continue supporting the team and our partners.”

Bunya, who joined Dedza Dynamos in 2024, leaves without having delivered any major achievements. He becomes first coach to completely lose his job in the 2025 TNM Super League season.
