The Lions of Kaning’ina, Moyale Barracks, secured a vital three points on Wednesday with a commanding 2-0 win over FCB Nyasa Big Bullets at Mzuzu Stadium.
Moyale took the lead in the first half through two quick goals in the 34th and 44th minutes, both scored by Lameck Mithi, who was later named Man of the Match. Chifundo Makawa provided assists for both goals. The result—sealed after 90+5 minutes of play—lifts Moyale to 10th position with 36 points.
Moyale Barracks Head Coach, Pritchard Mwansa, expressed his satisfaction with the team’s performance. “We trust every player,” he said. “The team played the full 90 minutes without substitutions. I should say thanks to the players—they played as a unit, defending and attacking together.”
He added, “We need to finish in the top 8 of the league. It will not be easy, but we need to work hard to maintain this performance.”
FCB Nyasa Big Bullets assistant coach, Gilbert Chirwa, admitted that his side made the game difficult for themselves by failing to defend. However, he emphasized that despite the loss, the team will continue fighting.
Despite leading the log table, Big Bullets are under increasing pressure as they remain locked in a fierce title race with Mighty Wanderers. Both teams sit on 59 points, though Bullets have the advantage with a goal difference of 36 compared to Wanderers’ 28.
A victory on Wednesday would have significantly strengthened the People’s Team’s chances of clinching the 2025/2026 TNM Super League title, with only three matches left to play.
