Mighty Mukuru Wanderers head coach Bob Mpinganjira has been named Coach of the Month for May, becoming the inaugural recipient of the monthly accolade under a new partnership between MMM Sports Plus and the National Football Coaches Association (NFCA).

The official unveiling took place on Monday morning in Lilongwe, where Mpinganjira was honored for his team’s stellar performance throughout the month of May. Wanderers won three matches and drew once, maintaining an unbeaten run and solidifying their title credentials.

The monthly award comes as part of a year-long partnership launched in April this year by MMM Sports Plus, a sports management and marketing firm to recognize and reward outstanding coaching talent in Malawi’s football scene. 

Each monthly winner will be receiving K150,000 in cash and a miniature trophy worth K100,000.

Speaking during the event, MMM Sports Plus Commercial Director Alice Munthali expressed delight at the successful launch of the program.

“We are excited to finally roll out this landmark partnership,” said Munthali. 

On his part, Coach Bob Mpinganjira thanked his backroom staff and attributed the success to collective effort.

“This award is not just for me, It is for my entire technical team. Their support and hard work have been instrumental in helping me guide the team through a successful month,” said Mpinganjira.
