CFRA Urges Dedza Football Committee to Maintain Discipline

The Central Region Football Association(CFRA)has urged Dedza District Football Committee (DDFA)to maintain discipline as the new season of the Dedza District League, sponsored by St Louis High School, begins.

The association’s General Secretary, Antonio Manda, made the call on Friday in Dedza during the launch of this year’s league.

Manda said the continued support from St Louis High School is a sign that the Dedza committee is doing well in managing the league. However, he stressed that discipline must be a priority to ensure smooth operations.

“We thank St Louis High School for its continued commitment to sponsoring the Dedza League. This marks five years of partnership. We also encourage parents to send their children to the school so that such support can continue,” said Manda.

He also commended the Football Association of Malawi for working with the regional body to promote football, saying the collaboration will help improve the sport in the country. Manda further praised the association’s president for his dedication to developing football in Malawi.

In his remarks, St Louis High School Head Teacher, Joe Mugululuka, advised teams to prioritize discipline, saying good conduct could lead to increased sponsorship.

“We encourage discipline during games. We do not want to hear negative reports about the Dedza League. If teams and the committee conduct themselves well, the school is ready to increase the sponsorship package next year,” he said.

Meanwhile, Dedza District Football Committee Chairperson, Chiku Watson Babu, assured that strict action will be taken against any form of indiscipline.

“We will not tolerate any misconduct during games. Any team found engaging in indiscipline will face immediate action, including possible disqualification from the league,” said Babu.

This year, St Louis High School has injected a total of 8 million kwacha into the sponsorship of the Dedza District League.
