The Board of Directors of the Malawi Broadcast Corporation (MBC) has appointed renowned journalist Brian Banda as its Director General effective yesterday, Thursday. 

In a meno signed by its chairperson Dr. Benson Tembo, Banda is expected to resume his full duties on Monday, the 16 of March this year.

Tembo says they believe the appointment of Banda will strengthen institutional leadership, advance the mandate of the Corporation in its credibility, professionalism and public interest broadcasting services to the nation.

The Memo further calls on the public broadcasters team to render a helping hand to the new DG for smooth operations of the Institution.

Before his appointment, Banda was working with a private media house, the Times- Group.
