Thyolo Court Adjourns Fraud Case Against One Acre Fund Officer

The Thyolo First Grade Magistrate’s Court has adjourned a case involving Daniel Samero (41), a One Acre Fund field officer for Maonekera B Zone, accused of fraud other than false pretences contrary to Section 319A(a) of the Penal Code.

State Prosecutor Ishmael Abubast told the court that between May 2024 and the 2025 farming season, Samero collected about K4.8 million from farmers at Chipendo Trading Centre, claiming he would deposit it into the organization’s account but did not.

He pleaded not guilty, and magistrate Kondani Chinangwa court has set November 21 for continuation of the hearing.

Samero hails from Njobvu Village, Traditional Authority Nkhulambe, in Phalombe District.
